Our third and final C in our Three C’s of Christmas is of course, comms. It’s what we live and breathe at theblueballroom, what we’re passionate about changing for the better, and what makes us all tick. We’ve had another brilliant year in all things comms, with exciting new clients, challenging projects and strong team work, and this is definitely reflected in the fun list we put together below:
- 13 trips to Hong Kong
- 16 trips to Europe
- 24,273 hours tracked
- Over £800 raised for our chosen charity
- 117 new jobs with 78 completed
- 9 new colleagues
- 97 cakes baked
And 1 project to produce:
- 232 guides
- for 133 countries
- in 11 languages
- over 6 continents!
Nicky alone has travelled to Bratislava, Rome, Milan, Zurich, Basel, Madrid and Hong Kong for various client meetings and events, making her our number one turbo-traveller at theblueballroom. Over the summer we began two separate projects with a client in Hong Kong, which meant that we quite rapidly upped the long distance adventures – and we loved it!
We’ve said goodbye to some lovely colleagues, but also we’ve also welcomed Karen – our Account Director, Ben – our Head of Creative and Digital, and some brilliantly trustworthy freelance colleagues along the way who’ve been a massive support to our business.
In the second half of 2016 we started our charity drive for Phyllis Tuckwell hospice, a care service we voted in as our chosen charity, for people in the last phase of their lives. In the last few months we’ve raised over £800 with fun runs, clear outs and a bake sale (just a few things), and we plan to continue this push in 2017.
That ‘1 project’ that concludes our list above has been seamlessly run by our Senior Account Manager Cara, whose middle name is ‘organisation’, and who has endless patience and grace. There is no project too big for Cara, that we can confidently proclaim!
It’s safe to say we’ve had a big year, one with many ups and of course some downs. We’ve learnt a lot from each other and from our clients (always learning), pushed back when we’ve felt things aren’t working (bold and honest), had some great team training (inspiring) and always kept in mind that team work really does make the dream work (collaborative)! We’re looking forward to seeing what 2017, and another year exercising our values, has to offer.
Until then, a very merry Christmas to you all, and a happy New Year from theblueballroom team!
