On Thursday 22nd September we will be hosting a bake sale at our offices in Farnham to support our charity of the year, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospices. The bake sale will also include a raffle with prizes such as: a cake made by guest baker, Butter and Cream Cakes, and a £40 voucher for The Wheatsheaf.
With a football sweepstake and ‘Bag it and Give’ already completed so far this year, we’re looking to really kick off fundraising in typical thebueballroom style – with cake!
Phyllis Tuckwell, whose care extends across the whole of West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire, supports patients and families living with a terminal illness, such as cancer. As well as medical and clinical care, they also offer therapies, counselling, emotional and spiritual support, advice on benefits and entitlements, practical help and bereavement support.
They’re a charity close to our hearts here and we hope the bake sale will bring in plenty of much needed funds to help them continue providing their incredible services to those who need them most.
Vanessa Beech, Corporate Partnerships Fundraisers at Phyllis Tuckwell said, “We are very grateful to theblueballroom for organising this bake sale to raise funds for us. Every day, we support over 250 patients, relatives and carers, but as the NHS/Government only covers 20% of our costs, we have to fundraise over £20,000 a day to be able to do this. Events such as this really do make a big difference in helping us meet this target.”
The event will be held at our office at Endeavour Place in Coxbridge Business Park, Farnham between 11am and 1pm on Thursday 22nd September. So come along, buy some cake and have some fun if you’re in the area! After all, it’s for such a good cause.
