Faded but nonetheless charming, The Dreesen in Bonn is a very special place to stay on a business trip. Seeped in history, in 1938 - Neville Chamberlain met Hitler there over the Sudetenland crisis, it has been a hotel for well over 100 years and its’ walls are covered in artifacts explaining this history. Caricatures of Winston Churchill and other political figures watch over you as you climb the wide staircase up to grand, high ceilinged rooms, overlooking the Rhein. Service is faultless and the food divine (beef in vodka, monkfish tails, beautifully pink duck).  If you need a night in Bonn, stay here. You won’t do better.
