Yesterday, all my vinyl seemed so far away, now it seems like they’re here to stay… Nostalgia for singles came back to me with a bang on 20 March – the anniversary of Can't Buy Me Love being released and an auction of Beatles memorabilia.
Today there’s Spotify, but in the Sixties the single ruled supreme. I still have a few but, happily, not my first.
Aged seven, I made a special trip in to town to buy The Beatles’ She Loves You. Boots had sold out, so I settled for my second choice - Val Doonican’s Paddy McGinty’s Goat.
