I rarely get to accompany my ..ahem.. award winning husband to such events, but last week I was lucky enough to go to the Picture Editors' Guild awards. We all love getting an award I'm sure, but it was (almost) as good seeing my nearest and dearest be rewarded for his success. Kate Silverton managed the proceedings, which most definitely required managing since Boris Johnson was presenting the first section! My husband met the hilarious as ever Boris three times thanks to winning a clutch of awards for his Olympic photography, so I was a very proud wife. I was also very jaded on Friday, but couldn't help bring the value of reward into work. After all, we are always going on about it! I only wish I'd realised the value of sleep, too.
