Today is World Telecommunication & Information Society Day (WTISD). It celebrates one of the most important factors in our life – communication!

The date is linked to the creation of the International Telegraph Union on 17 May 1865, later renamed International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Today’s ITU is “committed to connecting all the world's people – wherever they live and whatever their means. Through our work, we protect and support everyone's fundamental right to communicate.”

WTISD’s goal is to increase awareness of how crucial communication is in our lives. It highlights the importance of communication, and how information travels across the world through the internet and other communication technologies.

All of which sounds very similar to our goal here at theblueballroom. We know more than most about the power of communication and how great internal comms can transform business. We believe people, and the connections between them, are what matters. By creating meaningful messages, stories and concepts we create intelligent strategies with clear purpose to engage and connect people right across the business – all through communication.

So, today join us in celebrating the fact that billions of people across the world are now so easily connected to create, access, use and share information. And with us do your bit to make people more aware about the positive benefits of great communication, not only in the workplace but in every aspect of our daily lives.
