1. Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m Abbey and have just started as an Account Executive at theblueballroom. I previously was a Resourcing Assistant for a busy recruitment agency in Reading, where I started as a Sales and Marketing Apprentice and was quickly promoted. Now I’ve moved to hilly Guildford (another big change in my life) and am very excited to have joined theblueballroom.
2. What drew you to the Account Executive role at theblueballroom?
Everyone was very friendly, personable and smiley right from when I walked through the door. I knew as soon as I’d met the team and found out a bit more about the company and internal communications that it was where I really wanted to work. The creativity, fun vibe and impressive clients, as well as the love for cake here (highlighted when Kate made a banana cake to welcome me on my first day, YUM!), really attracted me.
3. What was your first couple of days like with us?
My first day was a little different, we had a team day out to Waverley Abbey, near our Farnham offices in the UK, which consisted of a range of interesting talks about communication and the future of theblueballroom, as well as a walk around the grounds in the sun. This was a great way to meet the team and luckily everyone wore a name badge!
My first day in the office was a nice insight into what working at theblueballroom will be like. I learned more about internal communications and the type of clients we work with. And I found out more about what the agency’s different teams do. Lots to remember!
4. What are you looking forward to most?
I’m looking forward to learning more about a new industry and learning new skills. I’m also looking forward to showing theblueballroom what I can do by growing and developing with the company to see where I can progress. Mostly, I’m excited to be making new friends and memories at theblueballroom.
5. Share with us a fun unknown fact about you!
I have a huge dog named Baymax who is a mix of Samoyed and Golden Retriever. He’s very friendly and loves being fussed over, but hates when I dress him up, especially when I bought him a Santa hat for Christmas.
6. If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Definitely Flying Saucers sweets! And even better if I could eat them at the beach.
