1. Tell us a bit about yourself...
Hi there! I’m Tom, and I’m a communication professional with 9 years’ experience of working within an agency, supporting FTSE350 clients with their communication challenges. Having worked with the likes of BT, Accenture and Royal Mail, I love looking at my clients' challenges strategically, and to help create a solution that really gets to the heart of it, leading to measurable results.
As an ex-designer, outside of work I try to keep creative. I can generally be found making some kind of home improvement, cooking, listening to music, practicing interior design or woodworking, or out taking photos or painting. I also love to travel - most recently, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to explore Italy, Sri Lanka, Canada and Ethiopia.
2. What drew you to the Account Director role at theblueballroom?
Having the opportunity to join a growing team, use my experience to help shape it, and to work with clients across Europe and Asia.
3. What were your first couple of days like with us?
Brilliant! I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with the account team and the wider business (they’re all awesome) to understand how we work together best. We also had a client in the office, so I had a chance to get involved and understand their upcoming communication aims. It’s been great!
4. What are you looking forward to most?
2 things; 1. Getting stuck in. I love being out on the road, and can’t wait to get to know our clients. 2. Getting to the end of the first project I’m involved with and seeing the impact it’s had.
5. Share with us a fun unknown fact about you!
Whilst travelling Australia, I became a prize winning ‘goldfish jockey’. Armed with a goldfish and a straw, I encouraged the fish down series of long fish tanks faster than the other contestants, and was awarded a bungee jump for my efforts!
6. If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Sushi. I love Asian food and fish, so it’s a perfect combo!
