Dawn Warwick, our Deputy Managing Director and Finance Manager, is leaving theblueballroom on 27 April to take the next big step in her career. Here she reflects on six years with the agency, her high and low points, and her enduring love for tbbr and its team…
I joined tbbr as the agency was celebrating its 10th anniversary. Past and present clients and suppliers were celebrating with us and I felt an immediate sense of pride in tbbr’s achievement over the first decade of its life. It inspired me to build robust finance support to enable the business to grow and build on its great reputation.
My highlight has been being part of the agency’s management team and progressing to become Deputy MD with all the increased responsibility that brought. It gave me a real sense of purpose and the opportunity to help set the direction of the business.
My lowlight was when tbbr’s team in Germany, which was providing a wide range of editorial services to one of our major clients, transferred from the agency to work directly for the client. Not only were there legal challenges but it was emotional. theblueballroom management team handled the whole thing with such honesty and integrity.
We often talk about the employee journey and tbbr does this brilliantly – from a welcoming recruitment process, thorough induction and continuous development. Our culture of always learning and working collaboratively brings a positive approach to how we work.
tbbr promotes positive wellbeing. We are a work family that values our colleagues, celebrates their personal occasions and achievements, and supports them in times of challenge or crisis. I will miss this the most.
My decision to move on was a difficult ‘heart versus mind’ dilemma – whether stay with a team I love or take the next career step. tbbr is in a good place and has a bright future, it is being bold and moving into new territory with a renewed energy and passion for growth.
My tbbr employee journey won’t end when I leave the office this week – it’s a valued relationship that I know will continue.
