Whether you are a social media lover or hater, superuser or lurker, it is clear that social media is here to stay. It won't ever take the place of face-to-face communication, but it will certainly continue to run alongside it, and can promote and strengthen offline communication. If you're just starting out, be it for business or pleasure, and are wondering how to get to grips with the various sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and so on, this blog post gives five suggested rules of social media:

We regularly help our clients out with social media, be it external, or internal. We helped one client, W'hite Springs, raise their profile through creating content for their social media fields. And for DHL Express we created a dedicated photo-sharing microsite for employees, to help them celebrate a company milestone, which won a digital media award.
It's not all about social media though, as my colleague Hannah outlines here. It's about getting to know your audiences and then finding the right messages - and making sure they are in a language people understand, whether on- or offline.
