This is the sixth in my series of minutes with my colleagues, giving you an insight into their thoughts and tips, and next up is Nicky Redmond. Nicky recently joined our team temporarily, but we liked her so much we thought we'd keep her! Enjoy! What is your favourite thing about being an Account Manager (AM), especially agency side?: Working for an agency provides a wonderful opportunity to get a peek into a varied mix of businesses; to see different cultures and work with all kinds of communication goals. I simply love being able to experience the variety of different issues clients need to share and finding innovative and effective ways to communicate them.
As a newbie to theblueballroom, I'm just getting to know what’s what and who’s who here, but have been warmly embraced into the team. I love the enthusiasm and dedication that I see around me and it’s fantastic to feel part of it.
What has been your favourite project you've worked on in your (albeit short so far) AM life?: I don’t really have a favourite because I've been lucky enough to work with two very different projects requiring such different approaches. As an ex Conference Producer, working on a global live event for a client has been right up my street. For another client, I've worked on developing comms tools for a CMS, producing engaging (I hope) content and talking to their employees all over Europe, making suggestions and implementing communications to improve and engage all stakeholders. So really, there’s never been a dull moment!
What would be a ‘what not to do’ as an AM?: To me, being an AM means being able to multi-task; to communicate well, to juggle, to balance and all the while keeping a smile on your face.
Give me your top three tips on being the organised and efficient AM that you are:
2) Be über organised
3) Have a positive attitude and calm approach.
4) Stick to the requirements (sorry, that’s four)
