There’s been a lot of talk at theblueballroom lately – a lot of talk and, in my opinion, not enough action. Don’t get me wrong, I like talking, I really like talking, but for the past six months I’ve been surrounded by everybody talking about social media and collaboration and the opportunities that it offers us.
Partners, colleagues, suppliers, clients: hell, I’ve been talking about it as well – and now, even my hairdresser this morning was asking me about Twitter. Asking ME, for goodness sake, I hadn’t even heard of Twitter six months ago, I’m 50, I read books! But, now, thanks to the younger members of theblueballroom team (OK, that’s all of them), there I was, telling her – no showing her – how to join in.
Thank goodness for my team of experts, or I wouldn’t have been able to help her at all. Experts like Abigail Harrison, Kevin McDougall and Jenni Wheller, who in the last six months have taught me all I know about social media; and of course, the real McCoy, Benjamin Ellis - although the term itself frustrates him. Funny post, that.
Well, the time for talking is over. Now is the time to get out there and do it. Really do it, really get some results for our clients. And that’s why I’m excited that today theblueballroom and our sister company, thebluedoor , has hooked up with redcatco to provide our clients a really different, actionable consultancy offer.
This collaboration agreement is just right, both for the time and for the digital space, as it brings together a group of people with highly complementary knowledge and skills, exactly when businesses are realising they need it. I have worked with Abigail for almost two years, so I know she’s a consummate professional, so our friends at Borderlinx say, and I believe Benjamin’s understanding of social media programme implementation will really enhance our experience in organisational dynamics, communications and behavioural change.
Turning talk into action. That’s more like it.
