Account and Project Manager

Farnham, Surrey

 Salary: £28k - £32k per annum. 6 month contract

Purpose/Job Summary:

To provide creative advice on the development of communications strategies for our clients, managing and nurturing relationships with them and other key individuals in the account management cycle.

Key Tasks:

  • Provide creative advice on the development of communications strategies for clients of theblueballroom
  • Manage existing relationships with clients and staff communications departments; to take the initial brief for new projects coming through these known contacts, or from executives elsewhere in the company; to provide estimates and scheduling of work within theblueballroom
  • Establish costs for each project, manage allocated budgets and exercise budgetary control over each communications project
  • Work closely with the Account Director to improve profitability across all clients, taking responsibility for the review of profitability during each job

  • Drive and grow relationships with existing and new clients including:
    • Attending regular meetings with the client
    • Managing the flow of work from briefing through to implementation
    • Proactively identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Manage and strengthen the relationship between theblueballroom and its clients through professional, creative and timely delivery of their communication needs – within agreed budgets and schedules
  • Proactively develop new business opportunities and seek opportunities to extend the role of ‘preferred supplier’ in terms of communications consultancy and deliverables on all projects

Key Accountabilities

  • Creating and managing effective communications solutions
  • Working across multiple platforms, including digital campaigns
  • Identifying and developing new business
  • Coordinating and managing the flow of work from briefing through to implementation
  • Identifying new suppliers
  • Responsibility for review of budget throughout the lifecycle of a project

Experience:

  • Previous demonstrable experience of working in the communications industry, preferably within an agency environment
  • Software: Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Adobe. Ideally with knowledge of various intranet and web platforms.

Key Skills

  • Proven client relationship management across multiple platforms to include: digital and traditional platforms (intranet, web, and social media).
  • Excellent Project/Account Management skills with the ability to multi-task, as the role is extremely varied
  • Experience of working on complex campaign delivery, including digital
  • Experience of new intranet implementation and community management would be very beneficial
  • Able to communicate effectively between agency and suppliers of digital technologies
  • People focussed
  • Networking skills to help drive new business (highly networked individual) active on blogs, Twitter & LinkedIn
  • Clear/accurate writing including, business proposals from brief, as well as the ability to identify and write in different tones of voice to suit the respective audience / format Financially astute and proven budget control experience
  • Understanding of tools used for communications measurement
  • Creative thinker – staying abreast of latest trends/forms of communication
  • Ability to set up and implement systems
  • The flexibility to travel both in Europe and further afield is essential
  • Ability to maintain clear/confident communication with clients, suppliers and colleagues including briefing of design teams
  • Great presentation skills
  • Multi-tasker with excellent organisational skills. Able to work across multiple accounts with great attention to detail.
